8th Annual Mutt & Me, The Recap

The weather was great and so was the turnout for the 8th Annual Mutt & Me. This year had 250 registered participants and the runners were again timed by Toolen's Running Start. Our overall winners in the women's division were 1st Rhonda Schmitz 23:13, 2nd Pamela Campbell 24:12 and 3rd Katie Morris 26:24. Men's overall winners were 1st Richard Gibson 19:37, 2nd Jackson Ivers 19:59, and 3rd David Jackson 20:32. The full list of winners and times for each division can be seen on Toolen's website.

In the dog constests, winner of best kisser was Macy, who owns Morgan Hutchinson. Heather Bowen's Cletus had the longest ears, and Wilson wore his heart on his tail for owner Hailey Stumpf. Nicole Dickneite's newly adopted Dozer was the youngest pup and Chad, belonging to Laura Broadway, was the most senior dog in attendance. Best costume went to Bailey the Chia Pet, loved by Geralyn Kutz. The best howler was Eric Woodcock's Hunter, and Abby, belonging to Bob Freese, had the best trick.

The date for next year's Mutt & Me has already been set. Save September 14, 2014 for another great morning in support of the pets of Helping Strays.
