Executive Director Named

Please give a warm welcome to Deb Ruggeri, new executive director of Helping Strays.

Deb began her career at Monsanto, fulfilling a variety of different positions that gave her the opportunity to expand both her organizational skills and her business and communications skills. In 1990, she left Monsanto to manage, as co-owner, Ruggeri Construction Company, and was responsible for coordination of the company's overall operations. Most recently, Deb has been the face of the Waterloo Chamber of Commerce. As the executive director, she handled everything from fundraising and event planning, to membership and marketing.

"I am delighted to have been chosen as the Executive Director for Helping Strays, the Humane Society of Monroe County. I intend to focus on many growing areas of the organization, most especially the new facility to be built on Hanover Road. This will involve a tremendous amount of effort to raise the capital through campaigning, membership and fundraising. Helping Strays is a non profit organization and is in dire need of the new facility for safety, health and productive reasons. Since 2002 HS has grown, and out grown it's current shelter. It is our hope that construction will begin in 12-18 months. I am excited to be a part of the next phase of the organization and will work hard to make my mark on Helping Strays." ~ Debbie Ruggeri

Deb will join the the Helping Strays team on July 1. We can't wait to see where her skill and enthusiasm takes us.
